OK, it's recently come to my attention that Pewdie's videos can offend some people. One of the most notable examples is the dark humor he uses. More specifically, the "rape jokes."

If you don't know what I mean, Pewdie used to use the word rape fairly often in his videos and he would use it in a joking manner. Now, I will admit that this did kinda offend me a little when I first started watching him. But I was able to look past that and enjoy Pewdie for who he was: a guy trying to have fun and be funny. And I know that rape isn't funny and that it's a terrible and traumatic event that will likely have long lasting effects on the victim, be they male or female. If you yourself have ever been raped, my heart goes out to you.

A common misconception is that dark humor seems to glorify or make light of tragedy. It doesn't. Dark humor takes a morbid or taboo subject matter and helps us transcend it and show us its absurdity. Dark humor, to me, is probably the best kind of humor. It provides the best examination of the human condition. (Did I just use The Amazing Atheist's argument? Yes, because he's right)

Pewdie doesn't mean to offend anyone. He knows that rape isn't funny and has sworn to never make a joke with the word "rape" in it ever again just because of this backlash he's getting from tons of people saying that he's a horrible person for trying to entertain people. Sure, his jokes might not be their cup of tea and they might find it offensive, but who is anyone for telling him (or anyone, for that matter) what he can or can't say? This is why I'm against censorship.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with this blog post, I just wanted to address the subject.
